I`ve started with exhibitions in empty shops, in german called "Zwischennutzung".
Another way are Artists-Galleries, for ex.: http://www.berlin-produzentengalerie.de/
(Künstlergalerie = ask Google)
...or use your own Rooms...?..

I can't say nothing about Berlin.
But in Hamburg, were I live, there are  lots of small Cultbars and Locations where you can apply for an Exhibition or Vernisage.
Guess, that should be possible in Berlin, too.

...hmm, exhibitions in bars and restaurants means, that people at this place only expect to eat & drink. Art is just a nice decoration.
I've never been succesful by showing art in rooms with an other orientation then art&culture...
But this are only my 50c (and 50 years experiances in exhibitions ;-)
