There is summer light.
And then there is Fuerteventura at 2:39 pm, trying to destroy your highlights and your nerves.
This is exactly the kind of moment when weak cameras start negotiating.
My Leica X2 does not negotiate.
In this frame of Uxia, everything could have gone wrong: brutal sun, hard contrast, screaming colors, reflective water, pink flamingo, turquoise bikini. In other words: absolute visual chaos for the timid.
But sometimes chaos has style.
What I love about this shot is that it feels playful and sharp at the same time. The colors are loud, the light is merciless, and still the image holds together beautifully. That is not luck. That is timing, instinct, and a camera with manners.
I did think about removing the warning sign in the background.
But honestly — it stays.
Because it tells the truth: the photographer remains at the edge, the muse takes over the pool.
1/1000 sec | f/7.1 | ISO 100
No drama in the settings.
All the drama in the sun.
And yes, this image is one more reason why I miss the warm season already: strong light, clear colors, bare skin, blue water, and those delicious little moments when summer looks like it was invented just for photography.
