I'm Joel, an American photographer living in Duisburg. I'm relatively new to the art form, but I am absolutely in love with it; I spend time everyday honing my craft. For me, as someone relatively new to Germany, it's a way for me to get out more, see the cities, enjoy nature, and meet a lot of creative people.

Before coming to Germany, I spent over 10 years working in film journalism for one of the largest movie sites in the world. I've even been involved in the writing and production of an award-winning TV series, of which I'm quite proud. 2026 is my year to finally pick up the camera for myself and create images of my own. My film background gives me a technical and artistic head start. Hopefully. ;)

I'm already quite confident behind the camera. You won't have to worry about me still figuring things out with you. And as you can likely see by my profile, I enjoy creating photos with lots of light and natural surroundings. However, I'll soon invest in my own lighting equipment to capture styles I can't do with available light alone.

My working language is English, but my wife speaks fluent Russian & Ukrainian and is available to accompany me on request.
